What a nicel weekend! Cooler weather and another Saints win – what more could we ask for?

Red Ribbon Week was a huge success last week and students had a blast wearing team shirts, tie-dyed shirts, hats, crazy socks, and
showing off their super hero side. Thanks to Katie Terrebonne and Ann Oustalet and the entire 7th grade class for
coordinating this. The sock hop on Friday left everyone smiling.

Just to update you: The prizes have been ordered for all those students who sold candy and will take
approximately 7 – 10 business days to arrive. Once we have everything sorted for distribution, we will get prizes
sent home and we are hoping to draw for the big prizes at a school assembly so that all students will get to witness
the announcements of the winners.

Last Thursday we held our first Honor Roll Assembly for this school year and we want to thank all of the parents
and loved ones who attended. We are already making some adjustments so that parents will have a better
opportunity to see students as they go up on stage to receive their certificates. Please bear with us as we try new
ways to improve our assemblies. While we know how much parents would like to sit closer to the stage, it is
important that students are able to see, so we’ll keep trying to improve on ways to accomplish that.
Heads up – please slow down when driving on school property. Remember that there are times when students are
walking to or from the church and we don’t want any accidents to happen.

Guess what? Parents can donate used uniforms to the church/school. The altar servers hold a used uniform sale
at Meet and Greet each year to help fund their ministry. So, before you head to Goodwill, please consider dropping
off your used uniforms to the church/school.

The Thanksgiving Food Drive is comingup soon. More information will be sent home this week.

Wear your Halloween accessories to include hats, gloves, jewelry, socks, and scarves. No face or hair paint. Girls may wear fingernail
polish, but it must be removed before school on Wednesday. No masks may be worn. No weapon accessories.
Full school uniform and uniform shoes must be worn.

We want to send a special Thank You to Dr. Cary Vincent of Eyecare Center Westbank for donating his time and his
staff for vision screening here at CTK. For the past several years, Dr. Vincent has screened our K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grade students. His service provides all of our students with a professional vision screening every two years. We truly appreciate his generosity and expertise!

Don’t forget about the Veterans Day invitation. Please help us honor our veterans by submitting the name(s) of veterans to be honored and please consider making a $1 donation to help defray the cost of the flags that we use. Also, feel free to attend the ceremony on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. It is truly a beautiful event.

Recently, Steven Williams from Tiger Rock Tae Kwon Do, showed students some self -defense moves. Kindergarten student Emmi Pouwels
showed off her skills.
Mrs. Giummo’s 2nd grade class took a field trip to Mardi Gras World last Friday and everyone had a great time

I’m sure all of you have noticed the planters around the white top. Well, Mrs. Kennair’s 3rd grade class did some
“sprucing” up of a few of the planters after reading The Gardener, a book about a young girl bringing her love of
gardening to the city.

There is a special group of students that we want to recognize. Our Safety Patrol is doing a great job and
these students get to school early in order to be available to help students in the morning.

Great pictures from the Red Ribbon Week Sock Hop and the Pumpkin Patch will be in the November 6,
