Chatter for the Week of November 13

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner.  The next Chatter you receive will be after we’ve all eaten too much turkey and watched too many football games.

I want to say Thank you to the parents who were able to attend the first “Parents, Pastries, and the Principal” event.  It was nice to have a chance to chat in an informal setting and hear some of your ideas concerning CTK.

Congratulations to our November Students of the Month! We are so proud of you.

Turkey Bingo was a huge success and we want to give a big “THANK YOU” once again to HASA, especially Erica Adams and Kristin Bohling. There was a lot of laughter during the night and everyone enjoyed it. A special thanks to all those faculty/staff who helped out at Turkey Bingo and to all those CTK families who showed up to support our school and to “pass a good time.” We are all looking forward to our next CTK Bingo night.

I’m sure that those of you who attended the Veterans Day Ceremony last Friday were as touched by it as I was.  This is always such a beautiful tribute to our veterans, both past and present, and the students truly love it.  The colors were presented by SrA Ahmad Ordu, a member of the Louisiana National Guard, along with two scout members from CTK – Daniel Marchiafava and Joey Nguyen. Special thanks to Mrs. Hetzler and Mrs. Movahed for putting this program together. Here are a few pictures:

Mrs. Robb’s 5th grade students enjoyed a field trip to the Aquarium. Everyone had a great time and students learned quite a bit about life underwater.

I hope everyone is ready to “get your skate on” this Thursday night at CTK Skate Night
sponsored by the Men’s Club. Information will be sent home this week.

Look what’s available in the CTK Spirit Shop – Soft Touch Pen with Stylus – for just $2.00. We have a limited supply, so get yours now! Just stop by the Development Office or send $2.00 in an envelope with your name marked “Pens.”

Well, this Friday is Field Day and that is always a fun day for the students. Field Day is not usually open to everyone, but some parents have expressed an interest in attending. Therefore, if you would like to be here for Field Day, please adhere to the following for the safety of our students:

You may bring a chair and sit between the planters along the school building side. The entire white top is taken up by students, so this is the only area available. PLEASE do not enter the class/competition area. Due to space and safety concerns, other children may not accompany those visitors coming to watch. A letter was sent home by Coach with instructions about what students are to wear and encouraging all students to bring bottles of water.
