First of all, let me thank those of you who contributed to CTK through I GIVE CATHOLIC. Once again, we
are so blessed here at CTK to have the continuing support that we do.

Our first week back after the Thanksgiving holidays was a hectic one. Now it’s time to gear up for all of the Christmas activities.

On Saturday, nineteen of our fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students competed in the AOL Academic Fair. Once again, CTK brought home honors. The following students placed for awards.

Receiving third place in Geography were Stephen Becnel and David Nguyen. Second place winners for U.S. Government were Stephen Becnel and Madison Nguyen, and Evan Nguyen and Truong Phan for WordyMath. Six CTK students received first place awards: David Nguyen and Evan Nguyen for Geometry, Emma Boudreaux and Haylee Gros for Grammar Patrol, and David Nguyen and Victoria Teruel for Mythology.
Congratulations to all of these students, all of the participants, and all of their teachers both past and present. We will have pictures with the entire group in our next Chatter.

Our Brunch with Santa is rescheduled for Sunday, December 17th. Time and additional details will be sent home soon. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this unexpected schedule change may have caused. It will be a fun time for our students and families!

Also coming up is the Children’s Hospital Toy Drive. Once again, Christ the King Parish School will be participting in this worthy cause. Toys will be picked up on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, and delivered to Children’s Hospital. Please drop off “new” toy donations at the front office beginning Monday, December 4, 2017.

Before the Thanksgiving holidays, Mrs. Chatagnier’s 1st grade students enjoyed reading Stone Soup, a book that promotes the message of sharing. Students made and painted pots in Mrs. Trusty’s art class to put their stone soup in and enjoyed a meal of sandwiches and soup.

It’s that time of year when students have the opportunity to buy presents for friends and loved ones. Santa’s Secret Shop will be open today, Monday, December 4, 2017 – Friday, December 8, 2017, and students will be able to do their Christmas shopping. Volunteers are needed to work Santa’s Secret Shop, so please contact and volunteer 1 hour, 8 hours, 5 days, ANYTHING!

Another event that took place before we left for the Thanksgiving holidays was Field Day. A special thank you to Coach Mike and all of the parent volunteers for another successful day. Also, thanks to all of the teachers for “getting into the spirit” and enjoying the day with your students. I promised some pictures in this week’s Chatter, but they will have to wait until next week. However, Mr. Murphy took over 400 pictures, so keep an eye on Facebook (ctkcrusaders) for pictures to be posted.
