What a week! The Santa Secret Shop was a huge success and the students loved shopping for their
families and friends. I want to thank HASA and all of the volunteers who helped out in Santa’s Secret Shop.
Below are a couple of pictures of students from 3K as they enjoy buying gifts.

Please don’t forget the Children’s Hospital Toy Drive. Once again, Christ the King Parish School will be
participting in this worthy cause. Toys will be picked up on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, and delivered
to Children’s Hospital. Please drop off “new” toy donations at the front office.

Many of you have asked about a Grandparents Club here at CTK. Invitations were sent out two weeks ago
to all those grandparents who had expressed an interest in forming a Grandparents Club and notice was in
last week’s Chatter. Unfortunately, only one grandparent rsvp’d that she would be able to make the meeting.  Therefore,                                the meeting scheduled for tomorrow is canceled, so please make sure that you tell grandparents.

A couple of reminders:
– We do not allow birthday parties at school. Parents may send individual snack such as cupcakes,
cookies, or brownies, along with napkins. No drinks, ice cream, balloons, or family members are
– Please review the Dress Code Policy in the Student Handbook (pg. 16). Students are only allowed to
wear solid white or black tights or leggings (NO PANTS) under the uniform skirt during cold weather.
CTK socks must be worn on top of the tights or leggings.

Students participated in the classroom spelling bees and we are all looking forward to the CTK spelling bee
to be held on December 19, 2017.

Students and faculty alike enjoyed the Saints Spirit Day last Thursday. Unfortunately, the New Orleans
Saints lost, but we all know they’re still Super Bowl bound.

I hope you are all following us on Facebook (ctkcrusaders). Pictures from Field Day have been posted, as
well as pictures from the Terrytown Trumpet, and some of the 7th graders who participated in the AOL
Academic Games.

The best way to keep track of student cafeteria accounts is to register online,
deposit funds, and receive notices when the account is low. Please register at There is a blue box in the right corner that will guide you to
register online. Since students are not allowed to charge meals, this will eliminate
phone calls during your work day

Congratulations to our December Students of the Month!
